IRVING, Texas - Senior NANCY COLE has been named Conference USA Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. She accounted for 4.00 kills per set and hit .422 as Rice picked up a pair of road victories last weekend. Defensive Player of the Week accolades go to UAB junior RACHEL FAIRBANKS who averaged 4.75 digs per set in the three Blazers wins. Redshirt sophomore MARIE REITEROVA earns her first Setter of the Week accolade after dishing out a C-USA weekly best 14.29 assists per set as UCF swept Southern Miss in its two-match series.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
NANCY COLE, RICE / 6-3, SR., MB / PASADENA, TEXAS
Cole averaged 4.00 kills per set and hit .422 over the course of two matches last weekend. She posted a season-high 21 kills at UTEP and scored 24.5 points against the Miners, while hitting .417. She hit .429 and picked up 15 kills at Tulane. Overall, she had 36 kills, good enough to move her into 11th place on Rice's all-time kills list with 1,204. She ranks second in C-USA in hitting percentage, and fourth in points. She has had double digit kills in nine-straight matches and has hit better than .400 in three consecutive matches. This is her second Offensive Player of the Week award for 2012 and career.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
RACHEL FAIRBANKS, UAB / 5-8, JR., L / KATY, TEXAS
Fairbanks was a force in the back row for the Blazers, averaging 4.75 digs per set as UAB posted a perfect 3-0 week and have now won eight straight matches. The junior corralled at least 18 digs in all three matches and collected six digs per frame against East Carolina in a three-set sweep of the Pirates. In addition, Fairbanks landed five service aces and added nine assists for the week. Fairbanks has now recorded double digit digs in nine of 10 league matches. Fairbanks collects her first C-USA weekly honor.

SETTER OF THE WEEK
MARIE REITEROVA, UCF / 5-9, R-SO., S / LUXEMBOURG, LUXEMBOURG
Reiterova averaged a C-USA weekly best 14.29 assists per set as UCF swept Southern Miss in its two-match series last weekend. Over the two matches, Reiterova recorded a .426 set percentage and helped the Knights hit .305 and .311 for the two matches. This was the first time in 2012 that the Knights hit better than .300 in back-to-back outings. Reiterova also picked up a pair of kills with no errors, dug out 11 shots, and blocked five attacks. She also served 27 times for the Knights with just one error for a .963 serve percentage. Reiterova averaged 50 assists per match and picked up her second 60+ assist performance of the year on Friday. This is her first Setter of the Week honor.
