IRVING, Texas - Marshall brought home its third tournament title of the season on Saturday after defeating UMBC 3-1 (24-26, 25-13, 25-20, 25-21) in the final match of the East Carolina Pirate Invitational. The Herd extended its win-streak to eight with the victory and improved to 11-4. The win streak is the largest Marshall has seen since starting the 2009 season 9-0. The victory also marked head coach Mitch Jacobs' 200th win as a Marshall head coach.

Three players earned All-Tournament awards following the match. Libero Dorothy Rahal earned Pirate Invitational MVP after recording nearly six digs per set for the weekend. Middle blocker Sacha Byous-McConnell and outside hitter Katy Schad earned All-Tournament selections as well.

Byous-McConnell returned to the court after having to sit out seven matches this season due to injury. The junior finished the weekend with 32 kills and a .468 hitting percentage. She only committed three errors on 62 attacks and led the Herd in blocks with eight.

Schad had a team-high 48 kills and 4.36 kill per set average during the three-day tournament. She was second on the team in digs with 50 and earned 4.55 digs per set.

 Coastal Carolina 3, at East Carolina 2  Shelby Beasley was named to the all-tournament team.
 #18 Pepperdine 3, at Houston 0  The Cougars were led at the net by senior Katie Norris' eight kills, followed by senior Chandace Tryon's seven.
 #21 Ohio State 3, at Houston 0  After nailing a team-high 16 kills Katie Norris was named to the all-tournament team.
 Marshall 3, vs. UMBC 1  Marshall won its third tournament of the season. Dorothy Rahal was named the MVP of the Invitational while teammates Katy Schad and Sacha Byous-McConnell joined Rahal on the all-tournament team.
  Alabama A&M 3, at Memphis 1  Marshall won its third tournament of the season. Dorothy Rahal was named the MVP of the Invitational while teammates Katy Schad and Sacha Byous-McConnell joined Rahal on the all-tournament team.
 Louisiana-Lafayette 3, at Memphis 1  Marija Jovanovic led the Tigers with 12 kills while Altrese Hawkins followed with 10 kills. Jovanovic was named to the all-tournament team after recording 59 kills over four matches at the Tiger Invitational.
 at Rice 3 , Texas Tech 0  Nancy Cole had 12 kills on .500 hitting.
 SMU 3, at UALR 2 ... New Mexico 3, SMU 0  Four Mustangs had at least 10 kills, led by Caroline Young's 20. Courtney Manning (16), Abbey Bybel (15), Bula (13) also had double digits kills. Olivia Bailey recorded her second double-double of the season with 31 assists and 20 digs. Susan Lewis posted a career-high 29 digs. Manning was named to the all-tournament team.
 vs. Northwestern State 3, Southern Miss 1   Jasmine Crowell and Lydia Bonner tied for a match-high 16 kills. Elizabeth Rinaudo recorded a match-best 28 digs.
 at Stephen F. Austin 3, Southern Miss 1  Lydia Bonner had 14kills, followed closely by Jasmine Crowell's 13 and Halie Ecker's 12.
 at Tulane 3, Binghamton 2  Cori Martone led all players with a career-high 30 kills and notched her eighth double-double of the season with 14 digs. Grace Weaver posted her eighth double-double of the year with a 12kill/11 dig effort.
 Baylor 3, at Tulane 0  The all-tournament team included Cori Martone and Mel Mandelbaum for the Green Wave. Martone averaged 5.25 KPS and logged a .310 attacking percentage for the weekend. Mandelbaum ran the offense and handed out 11.25 APS to go along 2.50 DPS.
 #10 Minnesota 3, Tulsa 0  Kellie Culbertson earned all-tournament team accolades after earning her second double-double of the weekend with a 11 kill, 11 dig performance against Minnesota.
 UAB 3, vs. Jacksonville State 0  Kate Morrell and Sam Serley paced the Blazers with 14 and 13 kills, respectively. Serley hit .867 for the match on 15 attempts with zero errors.
 #23 Illinois 3, UCF 0  DeLaina Sarden who picked up six kills, three blocks and hit .250 for the match.
 #6 Texas 3, UCF 0  The Knights got an 11 assist, 11 dig double-double from redshirt sophomore Marie Reiterova in the contest. Ashley Gialenios was named to the all-tournament team.
 Baylor 3, UTEP 0  Jeane Horton topped the club with 15 kills on 36 attempts for a .278 hitting percentage .
 UTEP 3, Binghamton 0  For the second-straight match Jeane Horton led the Miners with 18 kills while Cassandra Burruel had six blocks.
