IRVING, Texas - UAB setter Alison Woods reached a career milestone and libero Rachel Fairbanks posted a match-high 21 digs as the Blazers (5-4) swept Winthrop, 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-20) Friday in the first match of the Carolina Clash hosted by South Carolina. UAB has won four-straight matches.

Woods became just the fourth player in UAB history to reach 3,000 career assists when she set up classmate Kirsten Gallagher for a kill in the second set. She ended the match with 12 helpers and four digs in the victory.

Rice senior Nancy Cole picked up her 1,000th career kill on the third play of the first set against host Ole Miss Friday night. Cole is the 13th player in Rice history to reach 1,000 kills. The senior from Pasadena, Texas, finished with nine kills and three solo blocks in the match.

Friday, Sept. 7	Highlights
vs. Northeastern 3, East Carolina 0,	Torre Blake and Hannah Allgood each tallied a team-best six kills on the night, while Allgood added 13 digs and three blocks.
UTSA 3, at Houston 1	Houston finished the night with 47 kills. Seniors Katie Norris and Chandace Tryon led the Cougars with 15 and 13 kills, respectively.
Marshall 3, vs. St. Francis (PA) 0	Marshall was led by Laura Der with 13 kills and nine digs. She opened up the match with nine kills and a .444 hitting percentage in the first set.
at Toledo 3, Memphis 1,	Altrese Hawkins led Memphis with a double-double of 20 kills and 13 digs. Jaden Louie passed out 21 assists, and Veronica Zimmerman dished out 16 helpers while Aleksandra Petronijevic recorded a team-high 19 digs.
at Ole Miss 3, Rice 0,	Jillian Humphrey posted a team-high 10 kills on 13 attempts with one two errors for a .615 hitting percentage.
Rice 3, vs. North Dakota 1	Nancy Cole had a season-high 19 kills, and needs two more to reach 1,000 for her career.
Texas State 3, at SMU 0	Caroline Young led the Mustangs with 11 kills.
vs. Northwestern State 3, Southern Miss 0,	Jasmine Crowell led the Eagles offensively with 10 kills on .409 attack percentage.
Mississippi State 3, at Tulane 2	Cori Martone posted a career-high 31.5 points as she collected 25 kills, five service aces and three blocking assists. She also added 13 digs to grab her fifth double-double of the year.
Tulsa 3, at Northern Colorado 2	Tulsa had four players with 10-or-more kills topped off by Tyler Henderson's match-high 23, followed by Ashley Hooper's 15, 11 from Diana Silva and 10 from Kellie Culbertson. Silva and Culbertson had a double-double on the evening with 12 and 19 digs, respectively.
UAB 3, vs. Winthrop 0	Setter Alison Woods reached 3,000 career assists and UAB has won four straight matches.
UCF 3, at Sacred Heart 0	Offensively, the Knights featured a balanced effort led by redshirt junior Angelica Crump who racked up 10 kills. Five other Knights cracked at least four kills and with four players hitting over .400.
UTEP 3, vs. Louisiana-Monroe 0	Jeane Horton led the way for the Miners posting 11 kills while Malia Patterson recorded her second double-double of the season with 27 assists and 18 digs.
