IRVING, Texas - Houston earned a 3-1 victory over Lipscomb and helped head coach Kaddie Platt to her 500th career victory and first at the helm of the Cougars.

Seniors Katie Norris and Chandace Tryon, who have performed exceptionally well over the three-match weekend, dominated Houston at the net. Norris led all attackers for Houston with 24 kills, while Tryon added 13. Senior setter Abby Simmons lifted the offense with 40 assists and added four kills as well. The transfer also recorded her second-straight double-double with 11 digs on the defensive end as well.

Defensively, the Cougars used 18 digs from sophomore libero Natalie Keck, 11 from Simmons and 10 from freshman Olivia O'Dell, while recording nine total blocks as a team to Lipscomb's three. Houston totaled 50 kills, while the Bisons led with 59. Jewell Dobson led Lipscomb with 16 kills.

 Saturday, Sept. 1  Highlights
 vs. Bradley 3, East Carolina 0   Shelby Beasley and Nicole Willis registered 11 digs each.
 at Milwaukee 3, East Carolina 0   Hannah Allgood led ECU with 11 kills and was one of four Pirates with 10 or more digs (13). Whitney Campbell (10), Erika Figueroa (11) and Shelby Beasley (10) were also in double figures.
 Houston 3, at Lipscomb 1  Head coach Kaddie Platt picked up her 500th career victory and first at the helm of the Cougars program. Katie Norris led all attackers with 24 kills, while Tryon added 13. Senior setter Abby Simmons lifted the offense with 40 assists and 11 digs for her second-straight double-double.
 at Louisville 3, Marshall 0   Laura Der had nine kills and Sammie Bane dished out 12 assists.
 vs. Duke 3, Marshall 0   Katy Schad posted a matach-high tying 13 kills and had 20 digs for a double-double. Dorothy Rahal produced a match-high 25 digs. For the three-match tournament, Laura Der had 36 kills and 22 digs to earn Cardinal Classic All-Tournament honors.
 Memphis 3, vs. North Florida 0   Senior Altrese Hawkins led the team with 13 kills to go along with 10 digs for the double-double. Maja Kostic followed with a career-high 12 kills and Marija Jovanovic posted 11 kills. Louie registered a match-high 38 assists while Aleksandra Petronijevic posted 16 digs.
 at College of Charleston 3, Memphis 1   Senior Altrese Hawkins once again led the Tigers with a match-high 21 kills. Maja Kostic (13) and Marija Jovanovic (12) were also in double digits in the kill category. Aleksandra Petronijevic posted 25 digs and Hawkins had 17.
 #12 Washington 3, at Rice 0  Megan Murphy was named to the Tiger Classic All-Tournament team after posting 114 assists over the course of the three-match tournament. The redshirt junior also had 11 kills and 22 digs.
 vs. Army 3, SMU 0   Caroline Young posted her first double-double with career-highs in kills (23) and digs (18). Senior transfer Olivia Bailey had 39 assists and 14 digs.
 SMU 3, vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 0  Caroline Young led with 18 kills, hitting .350, and three aces. The sophomore was named to the TCU Nike Invitational All-Tournament team after reaching new career highs with 23 kills and 18 digs against Army on Saturday morning.
 vs. Houston Baptist 3, Southern Miss 1   Freshman outside hitter Lydia Bonner led the Golden Eagles with a match-high 17 kills while senior libero Elizabeth notched 20 digs with Alex Pfefferle coming up with 13 and Mary Pursell adding 11. Sophomore setter Kristen Fleming recorded her first double-double with 45 assists and 12 digs.
 at UL-Lafayette 3, Southern Miss 0   Lydia Bonner led all players with a match-high 10 kills. Kristen Fleming gathered her second double-double of the season with 32 assists and 13 digs.
 vs. Texas State 3, Tulane 0   Cori Martone topped the 10-kill plateau for the fifth-straight match and led all players with 14 kills and paced the squad with nine digs.
 at Lamar 3, Tulane 2   Cori Martone landed 20 kills and had 13 digs, while Milica Jovic and Grace Weaver added 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Weaver also had a team-high 20 digs. As a team, Tulane recorded 11 blocks and hit .221.
 Tulsa 3, vs. Nebraska-Omaha 0  Tyler Henderson posted 22 kills, followed by Kellie Culbertson's 10. Jessica Adams had 23 digs and Jordan Clampitt dished out 36 assists.
 UAB 3, vs. Eastern Washington 0   Kate Morrell registered 13 kills and a .357 hitting percentage. The team hit .275 to EKU's .154 and posted 10 blocks to the Kernels' one.
 Liberty 3, at UCF 2   Angelica Crump had a team-high 15 kills, followed by 14 from Evija Vilde and 12 by Ashley Gialenios. Four players had double-digits digs topped off by Meredith Murphy's 23.
 at UTSA 3, UTEP 2   UTEP was led by Jeane Horton and Xitlali Herrera with 15 and 10 kills, respectively. Herrera also had six blocks as the team registered 12 on the night. .
