Rice's Natalie Beazant and Tulsa's Japie De Klerk each advanced to the quarterfinals of the singles competition at the 2013 NCAA Tennis Championships Friday at the Atkins Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Illinois, Champaign.
Conference USA had two tennis players earn All-America honors with victories Thursday at the 2013 NCAA Women's and Men's Tennis Championships at the Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana, Ill. Sophomore Natalie Beazant earned Rice's first All-American honor since Wendy Wood in 1986, while Tulsa junior Japie De Klerk became the 11th All-American in program history.
Tulsa's Japie De Klerk, Clifford Marsland and Samantha Vickers plus Rice's Natalie Beazant won their first round matches to move onto the Round of 32 at the 2013 NCAA Men's and Women's Tennis Singles Championships at the Atkins Tennis Center at the University of Illinois, Champaign on Wednesday.
The NCAA announced the lineups for the Men's and Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships late Tuesday. The league has six singles players and three doubles teams in action.
