IRVING, Texas – East Carolina freshman Bailie Monahan has been named Conference USA Swimmer of the Week after posting two of the top times in the league during her swims in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events. Marshall diver Lauren Rone is the C-USA Diver of the Week for a second straight week after setting a school record in the one-meter. Conference USA Swimmer of the Week – Bailie Monahan, East Carolina, Fr., Stafford, Va. Monahan posted her top times of the season in the 100-yard butterfly (56.91) and 200-yard butterfly (2:03.46) against William & Mary. She won the 100 by a full second over the second-place finisher from William & Mary and the 200 by nearly two seconds over teammate Lauren Gray. The award is Monahan’s second of the season and of her career. Conference USA Diver of the Week –. Lauren Rone, Marshall, Sr., Aurora, Colo. For the second straight week, Rone swept both diving events and in doing so broke the school record in the one-meter in consecutive weeks. During the one-meter competition, her score of 292.80 was nearly 10 points better than her previous week’s score. It is her third win in four tries this season in the event. Rone set a new personal best in the three-meter with a mark of 275.70. It was her second straight win in the event and the fifth best score all-time among Herd divers.
