IRVING, Texas - Rice's Shelby Bottoms and Pam Zelnick were awarded Conference USA Co-Swimmer of the Week, while Meghan Coyne of East Carolina earned Diver of the Week honors as announced by the league office, Tuesday. Shelby and Zelnick both had two individual wins, swam on two winning relay teams teams and earned an individual second-place finish at the Rice Aquatic Center Invite. Coyne swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive against College of Charleston.

Bottoms won the 200-yard freestyle with a facility record and team-best time of 1:52.92, followed by a first-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley relay with a personal-best time of 2:07.41 at the Rice Aquatic Center Invite. The sophomore swam the anchor leg in both of the Owls' winning medley relays. She also swam the anchor leg in the 200- and 400-yard freestyle that finished in second place. This marks Bottoms first career Swimmer of the Week honor.

Zelnick won the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle at the Rice Aquatic Center Invite Nov. 6-7. In the 50-free, the senior finished with a facility record time of 24.44, which also marks a season best. She also set a facility and season-best mark in the 100-free after touching the wall in a time of 53.46. The Troy, Ohio native registered two first-place finishes in the medley relays and two second place finishes in the 200- and 400-fresstyle relays. This is Zelnick's first Swimmer of the Week accolade of the season and third of her career.

Coyne swept both the 1-meter and the 3-meter dive in the Pirates meet against College of Charleston. The sophomore tallied a score of 234.23 on the 1-meter and registered a 265.20 on the 3-meter dive to earn first-place honors. This is Coyne's fourth Diver of the Week Award this season and fifth of her career.
