SMU Swimming Posts Two More Qualifying Times at Grand Prix

Columbus, Ohio - The SMU women's swim team posted two more Summer National qualifying times on the final day of the Columbus Grand Prix, Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.

The SMU 400-meter freestyle relay took first place with a qualifying time of 3:52.93. Comprising the team was Ana Santos, Therese Svendsen, Justine Clark and Emily Vavourakis.

Svendsen competed in the 200 backstroke, finishing first in the "B" heat with a time of 2:17.16, good enough for the Summer Nationals competition.

Also seeing action for the Mustangs Saturday was Denisa Smolenova who finished seventh in the 200 fly with a time of 2:18.20.

The meet marks the last competition of the 2010 season for SMU. The team will begin its quest for a 16th straight conference championship next fall.
