IRVING, Texas – Thirteen Conference USA softball players have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Teams, as announced Thursday by the organization. Players from league champion Tulsa, Houston, Marshall, UAB, UCF and UTEP were honored.

The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each region and all the honorees will now be eligible for selection to one of three 2012 NFCA Division I All-American teams.
Six players earned first team all-region honors. C-USA Player of the year Camilla Carrera of UTEP and C-USA Co-Pitcher of the Year and tournament MVP Lacey Middlebrooks were named to the Midwest Region First Team, along with Houston catcher Haley Outon, Tulsa’s Jill Barrett and UTEP’s Chelsea Troupe.
UAB catcher Mandy Lowman and UCF shortstop Natalie Land were the league’s first team representatives in the Mideast region.
Seven players were tabbed to the all-region second teams, including Co-Pitcher of the Year Mackenzie Audas of UCF, Andi Williamson and Taylor Thompson of Marshall and Kayla Orr of UAB from the Mideast Region and Houston’s Holly Anderson and Tulsa’s Caitlin Everett in the Midwest Region.
