IRVING, Texas - Marshall pitcher Andi Williamson is this week's Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after she tossed 24 innings of shutout softball and struck out 19 hitters during the Thundering Herd's sweep of UCF to claim the third seed at this week's C-USA Championship. The Hitter of the Week is Houston's Haley Outon, who posted four multi-hit and multi-RBI games while hitting four home runs and batting .667 against UTSA and Southern Miss.

C-USA Hitter of the Week - Haley Outon, Houston, So., Plugerville, Texas

Outon hit .667 with 10 RBI, seven runs scored and four home runs last week as Houston swept through four games against UTSA and Southern Miss. The sophomore homered in each of UH's games last week and posted multiple hits and RBI in each game. Along the way, Outon set the school single-season record for home runs 20 (Laurie Wagner, 2008) and slugged 1.600 for the week. For the season, Outon leads the team with 18 multiple RBI games and 16 multiple hit games. This is the first Hitter of the Week award of Outon's career.

C-USA Pitcher of the Week - Andi Williamson, Marshall, Jr., Harts, W.Va.

Williamson spearheaded a sweep of UCF for the Thundering Herd to claim the third seed in the C-USA tournament. The junior did not allow a run to UCF in 24 innings of work during the series and earned three victories. Williamson collected her 23rd win of the season, tying her for the most single-season wins for a Marshall pitcher. The native of West Virginia struck out 19 batters and allowed just six hits each day (three in each game Saturday and six during Sunday's action). Williamson's strikeout total of 129 in conference games leads the league. This is the second Pitcher of the Week honor of the season and career for Williamson.
