IRVING, Texas – Tulsa junior Lacey Middlebrooks has been named Conference USA Hitter of the Week after helping the Golden Hurricane to a perfect week and leading the league in hitting, slugging, on base percentage, runs batted in and total bases. UAB sophomore Lannah Campbell is this week’s Pitcher of the Week after earning two wins and striking out 20 batters during 12 innings of work.

C-USA Hitter of the Week – Lacey Middlebrooks, Tulsa, Jr., Wake Village, Texas

Middlebrooks hit .700 (7-for-10) with eight RBI, a 1.600 slugging percentage and a .786 on-base percentage to lead Tulsa to a 4-0 record last week. She totaled five extra base hits – three doubles and two home runs – scored five runs, drew four walks and struck out just once. Wednesday against Arkansas, Middlebrooks was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, a walk and two runs scored. Saturday against UTEP, she was 3-for-5 with two doubles, two walks and three RBI in the doubleheader. Middlebrooks also earned the complete-game win in the opening game. Sunday, she was 2-for-2 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored. She struck out five batters and scattered four hits in pitching 4.0 of the five inning game to pick up the victory in the circle. This is the second Hitter of the Week award of the season and career for Middlebrooks.

C-USA Pitcher of the Week – Lannah Campbell, UAB, So., Satsuma, Ala.

Campbell (13-6) picked up two wins last week, struck out 20 batters, walked just one and allowed one run in 12.0 innings of work. In her eighth complete game of the season, she struck out a career-best 15 batters in game two at Southern Miss, all swinging except one. Campbell pitched 4.0 innings of relief in game three of the series, striking out five batters, allowing three hits and holding USM scoreless. Her ERA never climbed above 1.00 and she owned a 0.58 over the two wins. She holds a 1.67 ERA on the season and is holding opponents to a .198 hitting clip. This is Campbell’s second Pitcher of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
