IRVING, Texas - UCF sophomore Mackenzie Audas has been named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after she tossed a five-inning no-hitter and struck out 38 batters, including a C-USA single-game record-tying 17 against UTEP and 11 against No. 3 Florida. Freshman Shaelynn Braxton of Marshall is the Hitter of the Week after hitting .455 (5-for-11), with eight runs batted in, four runs scored and a 1.000 slugging percentage during a series win against Houston.

Conference USA Hitter of the Week - Shaelynn Braxton, Marshall, Fr., UTL, Woodbridge, Va..

Braxton hit .455 with a 5-for-11 performance last week as the Herd claimed a series win against Houston. She led the team in hits (5), runs (4), home runs (2) RBI (8), total bases (11) and slugging percentage (1.000). In game one against Houston, she went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run that added to the five-inning, 13-1 victory. In game three, Braxton was responsible for four of the five Marshall runs, hitting a three-run home run in the first inning and sacrifice fly in the fifth, which brought home the winning run in a 5-4 game. This is Braxton's first Hitter of the Week award.

Conference USA Pitcher of the Week - Mackenzie Audas, UCF, So., Plant City, Fla.

Audas went 3-1 with a 1.17 ERA in 4 appearances (three starts) last week, leading all C-USA pitchers in innings (24), strikeouts (38) and wins (3). Audas opened her week dropping a narrow 2-1 decision to No. 3 Florida. However, she allowed just two hits in five innings and struck out 11 hitters. Coming into that contest, the Gators were hitting .291 as a team and were fourth in the nation with 52 home runs, yet only managed a pair of singles off Audas. The Knights then went into a conference slate against UTEP and Audas had perhaps the best all-around series of her career. The Plant City native spun her second-career no hitter in game one as she allowed just a pair of walks to go along with eight strikeouts over five innings in the Knights' 8-0 victory. In game two of Saturday's doubleheader, she entered the game to open the 5th inning with the score tied at two. She tossed three innings of one-hit relief and earned her second victory of the day as UCF won, 3-2. On Sunday, Audas had a record-setting performance. She racked up a 2013 league-high 17 strikeouts which also tied the all-time record for strikeouts in a conference game. Audas allowed just five hits and two runs over 11 innings of work, also a career-high. It was her third victory of the series as the Knights earned their first weekend sweep of the season. This is the fourth Pitcher of the Week honor for Audas' career and first this season.
