Feb. 11 C-USA Softball Players of the Week

IRVING, Texas - Tulsa junior Aimee Creger has been named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week for the season's first week after she posted a 2-0 record, including a win against No. 22/21 North Carolina, with two complete games and 16 strikeouts.
UAB junior Kristen McGrath is the season's first Hitter of the Week after blasting three home runs and driving in seven during the Blazers' stay at the Paradise Classic in Honolulu. McGrath led UAB to a win against No. 16/16 Washington and hit a home run during both games against the Huskies and another against Mississippi.
Conference USA Hitter of the Week - Kristen McGrath, UAB, Jr., DP, Tampa, Fla.
McGrath hit .375 with three homeruns and seven RBI last week as the Blazers opened the 2013 season with three victories at the Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic, hosted by the University of Hawai'i. In UAB's 4-3 upset victory over No. 16 Washington, the Tampa, Fla., native was sitting on an 0-2 count in the bottom of the fourth inning when she blasted UAB's first score of the game. McGrath, who was named to the Paradise Classic All-Tournament team, also hit a homerun in UAB's 5-3 win over Ole Miss and another in the tournament finale against Washington. This is McGrath's first career Hitter of the Week award.
Conference USA Pitcher of the Week - Aimee Creger, Tulsa, Jr., P, Mustang, Okla.
Creger compiled a 1.00 ERA and a 2-0 record in two complete games, leading Tulsa to wins over No. 22 North Carolina and Purdue at the Tiger Classic. She allowed just one run, struck out seven batters, and scattered five hits with just one walk in the Golden Hurricane's 3-1 win over the Tar Heels Friday afternoon. She came back against Purdue Saturday afternoon, and struck out nine batters in a complete-game win, allowing just four hits and three walks. The award is the fifth of Creger's career.
