The Pirates and Golden Hurricane played to a scoreless tie when they met during the regular-season on Oct. 14.

Rice (11-6-3) will meet No. 7 seed SMU (8-7-4, 4-3-4 C-USA) in 4:30 p.m. quarterfinal. The pair met Sept. 23 in the opening weekend of conference play, with the Owls earning a 3-2 victory against the visiting Mustangs.
