UCF senior forward Tishia Jewell and junior defender Ashley Nicol were named the C-USA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. The Knights posted two conference wins over the weekend, holding East Carolina and Marshall scoreless. Jewell scored eight points with two goals and four assists, while Nicol anchored a back line that held opponents to a combined six shots.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TISHIA JEWELL, UCF

Jewell tallied two goals and four assists in a pair of conference wins over the weekend for a team-high eight points. She scored the game-winner against East Carolina - the first goal scored on the Pirates in 515 minutes of play - and then again in the 85th minute for her second multi-goal game of the year. Jewell notched her first of two assists on the team's third goal vs. ECU, which was part of the sixth-fastest scoring sequence (1:37) of three-consecutive goals in NCAA history. Sunday against Marshall, she tied the program's career shots record with three attempts to increase her total to 229. Jewell assisted two goals against Marshall to bring her career total to 34, which ranks second all-time at UCF and is one shy of matching the current record holder, Cally Howell. This is Jewell's second C-USA Player of the Week honor of the season and fourth of her career.

Nicol helped the Knights to back-to-back shutouts as she anchored a back line that limited its opponents to six shots and two corners combined this weekend. Nicol also scored a goal and added three assists. She scored the second goal against Marshall in the 12th minute off a header for her fourth goal of the season. She also assisted on the fourth goal against the Herd. Against ECU, Nicol assisted two of the goals that were part of the sixth-fastest scoring sequence (1:37) of three-consecutive goals in NCAA history. This is her first career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
