No. 12 UCF improved its win streak to six straight with a 2-1 victory at Houston. SMU also picked up a key road win with a 1-0 shutout of UAB. Colorado College, Memphis and UTEP each won in front of their home crowds to remain tied for second place in the C-USA standings.

C-USA WOMEN'S SOCCER SHOOTING STARS (Sunday, Oct. 18)
No. 12 UCF won its sixth straight match with a 2-1 victory at Houston. For the fourth-straight match, reigning C-USA Player of the Week Becca Thomas (Burlington, Wash.) scored the game-winner and actually netted both goals for the Knights this afternoon. It was the ninth GWG for her career.
Sophomore GK Aline Reis (Campinas, Brazil) made six saves to give her 156 stops in her career. She now needs 10 more saves to move into a tie for fifth on the UCF all-time list.
Houston freshman MF Morgan Vela (Katy, Texas) notched her first career goal while sophomore F Jessica Zavalza (Santa Ana, Calif.) picked up her third assist of the season.
UTEP senior Chelsea Winbush (Allen, Texas) scored two goals in the first 22 minutes to lead the Miners to a 2-0 shutout of East Carolina. The Miners remain tied with Memphis and Colorado College for second place in the C-USA standings.
Memphis junior F Ashley Berra (Cordova, Tenn.) netted her 11th goal of the season in the 80th minute as Memphis earned its 10th shutout of the season with a 1-0 victory over Tulsa. Berra has now doubled her career goal total after recording 11 goals in her first two seasons at Memphis. Berra has now climbed to fourth place in the career ranks.
With the shutout, the 2009 Memphis squad moves into to a tie in the school record books for the most shutouts in a single season with 10, tying the 2007 squad.
Colorado College senior D Lauren Talbot (Highland Village, Texas) struck in the sixth minute for the Tigers' game-winning goal in a 4-0 shutout of Marshall. CC improved to 8-1-1 at home and 10-5-1 overall to be assured of its 31st winning season in 35 years of varsity competition.
SMU freshman F Kenzie Scovill (Lewisville, Texas) scored in the 62nd minute to give SMU a 1-0 win over UAB in the Mustangs' final regular season road match. Scovill now has a team-leading four goals on the season. Sophomore F Logan May (Coppell, Texas) recorded her team-leading fourth assist of the season on the play.
Rice posted season-highs in shots (25), shots-on-goal (10) and corner kicks (11) on the way to a 2-0 shutout victory over visiting Southern Miss. Junior Nikki Storness (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) came off the bench to put the Owls on the scoreboard late in the first half and Korey Taylor (McKinney, Texas) netted the insurance goal.
