UTEP junior forward Brittany Kindzierski scored five goals for the Miners in two Conference USA matches over the weekend to earn C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honors. Goalkeepers Hanna Berglund of Colorado College and Lindsey Kerns of Marshall both registered a pair of shutouts and will share Defensive Player of the Week laurels.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BRITTANY KINDZIERSKI, UTEP

Junior, MF, St. Albert, Alberta
Kindzierski powered UTEP to an unbeaten weekend (1-0-1) by erupting for five goals against Houston & Rice. Kindzierski got things going with a hat trick to propel the Miners past the Cougars, 6-3, on Friday. It marked the first hat trick of her career and the 22nd in program history. She followed that performance up by scoring a pair of first-half goals, in a span of less than seven minutes, against the defensive-minded Owls. It marked just the second time on the year that Rice had permitted two goals in a game, let alone two by the same player, in a match that ended in a 2-2 draw. This is Kindkierski's first C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honor this season and second for her career.

CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HANNA BERGLUND, COLORADO COLLEGE
Junior, GK, Golden, Colo.

Berglund posted shutouts against Rice (1-0) and Houston (1-0) to help Colorado College climb into a tie for first place with Memphis. She tied her career high with nine saves against the Owls on Friday and came back with three saves against the Cougars on Sunday. Berglund lowered her season goal-against average to 1.16 and raised her saves percentage to .779. In conference play, she owns a 0.16 GAA and .964 saves percentage. Berglund posted her sixth and seventh overall shutouts as well as her fourth and fifth in conference play. This is the first C-USA weekly honor of Berglund's career.

LINDSEY KERNS, MARSHALL
Sophomore, GK, Hurricane, W.Va.

Kerns posted two shutouts over the weekend, including a shutout against No.24 UCF and Southern Miss. In the match against the nationally ranked Knights, Kerns slammed the door on six shots in the scoreless tie. She made diving stops with two minutes to play in regulation and within a minute to play of the final overtime period. Kerns continued to showcase her prowess in the net by keeping the Golden Eagles from scoring on Sunday. She denied six Southern Miss shots. This is the first C-USA Defensive Player of the Week career honor for Kerns.
