Seniors Kenzie Scovill of SMU and Tess Hall of UTEP both led their teams to a pair of wins last week to earn C-USA Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors. Rice sophomore goalkeeper Amy Czyz registered a career-best 11 saves in a 1-1 tie with LSU, and was credited with the win in a 2-0 shutout at McNeese State to earn Defensive Player of the Week honors.

CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
KENZIE SCOVILL, SMU
Senior, F, Lewisville, Texas

Scovill scored a pair of game-winners as the Mustangs defeated Oral Roberts in their home opener Friday and then shutout Arkansas Sunday. The senior netted the game-winner against ORU in the 81st minute for the 2-1 victory. She then put SMU's first two goals on the scoreboard Sunday for her first career multiple-goal match as the Mustangs handed Arkansas its first loss of the season by a convincing 4-0 decision. Scovill also assisted on teammate Olivia Elliott's goal against the Razorbacks. For the week, she tallied three goals and an assist. This is Scovill's first career C-USA Player of the Week honor.

TESS HALL, UTEP
Senior, MF, Anaheim, Calif.

Hall scored seven points (three goals and an assist) to help UTEP capture the Border Shootout Championship. The Miners defeated two quality foes in 2011 NCAA participants Texas State (3-1, Aug. 22) and Army (3-2, Aug. 26). Hall scored twice against the Bobcats, putting away her first goal after a scramble in the box to give UTEP a 1-0 lead. She then gave the home side some much-needed breathing room off a free kick as she brilliantly bent the ball over the wall for the score. Against Army, the Miners fell behind 1-0 until Hall provided the equalizer with a rocket from 35 yards out and then helped set up the go-ahead tally. Hall is a two-time Player of the Week selection for her career, and this is her first honor of the season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AMY CZYZ, RICE
Sophomore, GK, Danville, Calif.

Czyz was sound and solid to help Rice post an unbeaten 1-0-1 weekend. On Friday, Czyz made an eye-opening career-high 11 saves to help preserve a 1-1 double-overtime tie on the road at LSU. The Danville, Calif., native also made a save in 77 minutes of work Sunday in a road game at McNeese State. She had left Sunday's contest with the Owls already holding a comfortable 2-0 lead. For the two games, Czyz made 12 total saves in 187 minutes of action and maintained a composite .923 goals-against average. This is her first weekly award of the season and second of her young career.
