Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's soccer team will kick off the 22nd season in school history on Saturday, August 23rd against Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. at the Demon Soccer Complex. This game, which was originally scheduled for Friday, was pushed back one day due to inclement field and weather conditions.

"We are very excited to get going," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "We didn't have any preseason games scheduled, so we are ready to get a couple of games under our belts and see where we are at. It is a new season and we are ready to play."

Tulsa registered a 3-14-2 mark in 2007, with the three wins being shutout victories over Western Kentucky, Missouri State and Southern Miss. This season, TU will carry a 31-member roster, 10 more than the 2007 squad, and will feature 14 letterwinners, including eight returners, 16 newcomers and one red-shirt sophomore.

NSU tallied an 11-7-2 mark last season, and are coming off a 2-0 win over Jackson State in an exhibition contest earlier this week.

The Golden Hurricane and Demons faced off in 2007, the only meeting between the two schools, with NSU registering a 2-1 double-overtime victory at the Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium.

TU will take on Southern, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the same facility. This will be the first meeting between the two schools.
