Memphis and Southern Miss closed out the 2012 calendar year of Conference USA women's basketball with a pair of home victories.
Memphis picked up a nine point win over Tennessee Tech, 73-64, while USM cruised to a 30-point victory over local William Carey, 76-46.
Freshman Ariel Hearn posted her first collegiate double-double with season highs of 23 points and 10 rebounds for Memphis (8-5), who extends its winning streak to five.
Four players scored 10-or-more points for the Golden Eagles. Junior G Jamierra Faulkner led the club with 23 points, nine assists and seven steals. Senior G Tanecka Carey followed with 14 points and 10 each came from freshman G Jerontay Clemons and senior C Ance Celmina.
