PLAYER OF THE WEEK
NICOLE DICKSON, MEMPHIS

Dickson, who opened the game with a 3-point field goal, never looked back, ringing up her sixth 20-plus point performance of the season and finishing with a game-high 28 points and 56.3 percent shooting stroke from the field. In addition to four made 3-point field goals, which moved her to sixth in the Memphis record book, Dickson drove and hit a jump shot with 0.4 seconds left in the game to break a 69-69 tie with Missouri. She then stepped to the line to hit the and-one to help seal a 72-69 victory. With the 28-point effort, Dickson went over the 1,300 career point mark, and now ranks 16th at Memphis in scoring with 1,305 points and 14th in rebounding with 640 career boards. FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
ARIEL HEARN, MEMPHIS
5-7, GUARD / MEMPHIS, TENN. / ARLINGTON HS

Hearn continues to serve as the Tigers' starting point guard and helped power Memphis to a 72-69 win over Missouri Saturday. She finished with 17 points and six rebounds in the win, scoring 12 of her points in the second half while Memphis was trying to fight off the visiting Tigers. Missouri had pulled to just three down, 57-54, with 7:48 to play, when Hearn hit her first field goal of the second half to push the lead back to five. Following another Missouri triple and a free throw, it was Hearn who the Tigers turned to for an answer, as she drove and scored the layup and one to keep Memphis ahead by four, 62-58. Again Missouri would hit a three to cut into a lead, 62-61. Hearn answered with another jumper to make it 64-61 Memphis. The hometown native would finish with 17 points on 62.5 percent (5-of-8) shooting from the floor and was 63.6 percent (7-of-11) from the free-throw line. Playing 34 minutes, she finished with four assists and was the team's second-leading rebounder with six defensive boards. In the last five games, four of them Memphis wins, Hearn is averaging 18.6 points per game and is shooting 50 percent from the floor and 76.3 percent from the free-throw line.
