IRVING, Texas - Nakachi Maduka hit two free throws with 0.1 seconds remaining to give Rice a 43-41 victory over future C-USA member UTSA at Tudor Fieldhouse. The Owls overcame a nine point deficit in the last 13 minutes to win the game. The Owls (6-4) have won four consecutive games, and are 5-1 at home this season.

Also victorious Thursday night was Marshall and UTEP. A solid defensive was the key for Marshall (6-5) as they picked up a 52-46 win over Furman at the Cam Henderson Center. The Thundering Herd forced 20 turnovers and led by senior Leandra King's career-high five blocks, while Erica Woods earned four of the Herd's eight steals. UTEP cruised to an easy 60-45 victory over New Mexico at the Don Haskins Center. Three Miners scored in double digits, led by 22 points from junior forward Kayla Thornton.

at Marshall 52, Furman 46	Marshall's (6-5) defense forced the Paladins to turn the ball over 20 times. Senior Leandra King recorded a career-high five blocks, while Erica Woods earned four of the Herd's eight steals.
at Rice 43, UTSA 41	Nakachi Maduka had a team-high 12 points, while Christal Porter grabbed a game-best 14 rebounds.
at UTEP 60, New Mexico 45	Senior F Kayla Thornton scored a game-high 22 points, followed by 11 from Irene Gari and Anete Steinberga added 10. UTEP hit 20-of-29 free throws.
