CONFERENCE USA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SHOOTING STARS (Fri., Dec. 18)
Senior G/F Chantelle Handy led Marshall with 16 points as the Thundering Herd grabbed a 73-71 win over Morehead State at Ellis T. Johnson Arena. Junior F Tynikki Crook recorded 15 points while Mystee Dale and Erica Woods notched nine apiece. The effort for Woods marked a career-best.

Seniors Jareica Hughes (11 points, six boards, five assists) and Timika Williams (10 points, nine rebounds) led the way for the Orange and Blue, and is on the cusp of making history as result. The duo has now been a part of 76 victories since venturing together to El Paso out of high school, which places the pair tied with former Miner greats Kasia Krezel and Izabela Pieksarska for the most wins ever by a senior class. UTEP defeated Texas State, 65-45, at the Don Haskins Center Friday Evening.

LaToya Bullard, who was one point shy of a triple-double for Memphis as the senior finished with nine points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds in a tough 73-72 loss to Ole Miss. The Tigers fell just short of securing a signature home win when Rebel senior Elizabeth Robertson's lone three-pointer of the night found the net with 2.3 seconds remaining. Alex Winchell led Memphis with her first 20-point outing of the season, while Brittany Carter added 17 points and Savannah Ellis finished with 12 points.
