IRVING, Texas - Conference USA women's basketball is set for another exciting week of action as league members produced an overall record of 19-9 last week and won five holiday tournaments.

Opening the week with home games will be Rice and Houston while UAB travels to High Point for a Tuesday night game.

C-USA W-Basketball Notebook & Statistics

Rice is set host the 2011-12 NCAA Champion and third-ranked Baylor at Tudor Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. CT Tuesday. This marks the first time that Rice has hosted the defending national champions since 2001-02. The Lady Bears are led by Nimitz HS product Brittney Griner, who makes a return to Houston in her senior year. The Owls are led by C-USA Preseason Player of the Year Jessica Kuster who ranks third in the league in scoring (19.0) and rebounding (9.4).

Fresh off of two wins to claim the David Jones Classic title, Houston (2-4) takes on UTSA at 7 p.m. at Hofheinz Pavilion. Houston notched its first victory of the season in a 61-44 defeat of Southeast Missouri on Friday as guards Porsche Landry and Alecia Smith combined for 34 points in the contest.

UAB travels to High Point, N.C., to face the Panthers at 7 p.m. CT. The Blazers are 6-1 on the year and is coming off the Samford Thanksgiving Classic, where the team picked up two wins in two days. This marks the best start to a season since the 1994-95 club jumped out to an overall record of 8-1 and finished the season 19-9. Senior guard Amber Jones and junior forward Karisma Chapman leads the team with 14.3 and 13.9 points per game, respectively.

Wednesday features two C-USA teams at home including Tulane (5-0) who will be hosting SEC foe Auburn in Devlin Fieldhouse. That game will be televised locally on Cox Sports Television with a 7 p.m. CT tip. The Green Wave will make a second appearance on Cox Sports TV on Dec. 9 when they face LSU in Baton Rouge. Tip of that game is set for 2 p.m.
