Women's Basketball Set for 2012-13 Season

IRVING, Texas - The 18th season of C-USA women's basketball gets underway Friday as 10 of the 12 programs tip off the 2012-13 season. SMU and UTEP are slated for season openers on Saturday, Nov. 10. Nine teams will host their home openers this weekend. East Carolina, Houston and Tulsa are the only three programs that will travel.

Tipping the season off at 11 a.m. CT will be Radford at Marshall and Hampton at Southern. A Noon game between Austin Peay and UAB follows as well as a 4 p.m. match-up between East Carolina at William and Mary and Georgia State at UCF at 6 p.m.

The seven o'clock hour features a host of C-USA teams as Memphis opens the WNIT against Grambling State at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. Houston travels to Mississippi State and Tulsa drives across town to take on intra-city rival ORU. Prairie View A&M is set to take on Rice in Houston and Louisiana Tech, a C-USA member in 2013, will challenge the league's preseason favorite Tulane in New Orleans.
