ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's basketball team has added forwards Makenzi Reasor and Rosinha Rosario to the 2013-14 recruiting class, head coach Joi Williams announced Thursday.
The pair round out UCF's recruiting class at six, joining freshman guard Jordan Jackson (Long Beach, Calif.); junior forward Yanique Gordon (Tallahassee C.C.); freshman guard Zykira Lewis (Bartow, Fla.) and freshman guard Aneesa Watson (Fayette County, Ga.). The newest Knights will compete for the Black and Gold when they embark on their inaugural campaign in the American Athletic Conference.
"I am very excited about adding Rosie and Makenzi to our UCF family. Both will provide depth to our team in the front court," Williams said. "Rosie's work ethic and versatility will allow her to contribute on both ends of the floor. Makenzi's length and ability to stretch the floor with her shooting will allow us to attack offensively in many ways. In addition, these two young ladies are great students."
Reasor, 6-foot-2, spent 2012-13 at Indiana State. Originally from Fortville, Ind., she lettered for four seasons at Mount Vernon High School and led the Marauders to the Class 3A State Championship game as a senior. She assisted MVHS to back-to-back sectional titles and regional appearances while earning four All-State team distinctions during her career.
Rosario, 6-foot-1, is a sophomore transfer from Gulf Coast State College (Panama City, Fla.) and a close friend of UCF senior guard Sara Djassi from their playing days in Portugal. A native of Rio De Mouro, Portugal, Rosario started 30-of-31 games last year for the Commodores, averaging 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
