IRVING, Texas - Memphis and Tulane extended its 2011-12 season by picking up a pair of opening round WNIT victories Thursday night. After trailing most of the game, the Tigers slid by UT-Chattanooga, 60-59, inside the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. With the win, Memphis (25-7) advances to face Missouri State on Saturday in Springfield, Mo., at 7 p.m. Conference USA Player of the Year Jasmine Lee recorded her 16th double-double with game highs of 20 points and 16 rebounds. She also played a vital role in the final seconds as she batted a pass away from the Mocs' post to seal the win. Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir was second in scoring for Memphis with 15 points.

Tulane (23-10) freshman guard Danielle Blagg had a game-high 18 points and the Green Wave duo of senior center Brett Benzio and junior guard Olivia Grayson both posted double-doubles Tulane picked up a 68-61 win over Mississippi Valley State at Fogelman Arena. The Green Wave trailed 38-35 at the break and were down by four at 40-36 just over two minutes into the second half. From there, Tulane went on a 13-7 run over the next five minutes to take a 49-47 it would not relinquish. With the win, Tulane advances to take on Texas Tech on Sunday in Lubbock, Texas at 2 p.m. Blagg, who hit four 3-pointers on the night, was one of four Tulane players to finish in double figures while Grayson had 13 and both Benzio and freshman forward Tiffany Dale tallied 12 each. Benzio and Grayson completed their double-doubles with 10 rebounds apiece.

  at Memphis 60, Chattanooga 59   Memphis (25-7): C-USA Player of the Year Jasmine Lee finished the game with her 16th double-double of the season with game highs of 20 points and 16 rebounds. Sophomore G Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir finished with 15 points.
Chattanooga (22-10): Whitney Hood led the Mocs with a double-double of her own of 13 points and 10 rebounds.
  at Tulane 68, Mississippi Valley State 61   Tulane (23-10): Freshman G Danielle Blagg had a game-high 18 points and the Green Wave duo of senior C Brett Benzio (12pts/10rebs) and junior G Olivia Grayson (13pts/10rebs.) both posted double-doubles.
MVS (18-14): De'Kisha Fondon led the Delta Devilettes with 15 points.
