IRVING, Texas - Marshall, Memphis, Rice, Tulane and UAB won their respective home openers Friday. Shay Weaver guided Marshall to a 65-63 win over Radford with a game-high 19 points, giving head coach Matt Daniel his first victory with the program. Memphis opened the Preseason WNIT with an impressive 92-42 victory over Grambling State. Mooriah Rowser led the way with a game-high 24, followed by Nicole Dickson's 20. C-USA Preseason Player of the Year, Jessica Kuster led Rice with her 28th career double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds. She needs nine points to reach 1,000 for her career. Rice downed Prairie View A&M, 57-42. Tulane received a career-high 18 points from Tyria Snow as the Green Wave picked up a 66-59 victory in the newly remodeled Devlin Fieldhouse. UAB continues its stiffing defense holding Austin Peay to just 54 points as the Blazers recorded 72. Freshman Kayla Anderson led the Blazers with 13 points.

 Friday, Nov. 9  Highlights
 at Marshall 65, Radford 63  Head Coach Matt Daniel won his first game at Marshall. Shay Weaver guided the club with a game-high 19 points, followed by Suporia Dickens's 12. The Thundering Herd hit .460 for the game to Radford's .393.
 Hampton 78, at Southern Miss 41  Tanecka Carey led Southern Miss with 14 points. USM was forced into 27 turnovers, allowing Hampton to score 34 points off of miscues.
 at UAB 72, Austin Peay 54  UAB forced 29 Austin Peay turnovers. Freshman Kayla Anderson led the Blazers with 13 points.
 East Carolina 68, at William and Mary 62  A trio of Pirates scored in double-figures, led by Whitny Edwards' 16 points. Kyani White and Britny Edwards contributed 12 points apiece. East Carolina (1-0) tallied 19 steals and 17 assists in the six-point victory.
 Georgia State 64, at UCF 50  Freshman Briahanna Jackson led the Knights with 18 points but the 28 team turnovers were too much to overcome.
 at Mississippi State 72, Houston 66  Porsche Landry (16), Marissa Ashton (12) and Jessieka Palmer (10) each scored in double digits for Houston. The Cougars were out-rebounded 65-39.
 at Memphis 92, Grambling State 42  A pair of Tigers scored 20 or more points. Mooriah Rowser led the way with a game-high 24, followed by Nicole Dickson's 20. Ariel Hearn dished out a game-high 12 assists. Memphis shot .563 to Grambling State's .238.
 at Rice 57, Prairie View A&M 42  Jessica Kuster led the Owls with her 28th career double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. She went 9-13 from the field on the evening, and needs nine points to reach 1,000 for her career.
 at Tulane 66, Louisiana Tech 59  Tyria Snow scored a career and game-high 18 points, followed by Olivia Grayson's 12 and 11 from Janique Kautsky. Team shot .415 from the field. Friday's game was the first contest of any sport played in Tulane's 79-year-old, on-campus facility, which recently received a top-to-bottom makeover thanks in large part to a generous donation by Bob and Kate Devlin.
 at Oral Roberts 64, Tulsa 53  Ashley Clark and Taleya Mayberry led Tulsa with 12 and 10 points, respectively. TU had 23 turnovers but dished out 13 assists on 19 field goals made.
