SMU senior ALEKSANDRA MALYARCHIKOVA and Southern Miss' MATT FROST posted stellar individual records to claim September's Conference USA Tennis Athlete of the Month honors. Malyarchikova went 7-0 in doubles and 4-0 in singles in September while Frost compiled a 6-1 singles record. He competed in the HEB Baylor Intercollegiate where he went 3-1 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the main draw.

Malyarchikova went 7-0 in doubles and 4-0 in singles in September. In singles, she won the top bracket of the Texas Invitational, winning all four matches in straight sets. In doubles, she partnered with Edyta Cieplucha to win the doubles title. The pair won 32 of 42 games in the Texas Invitational, including an 8-3 win over the ITA's 18th-ranked tandem from Texas. That duo followed up by winning three pre-qualifying matches to advance to the qualifying round of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.

Frost compiled a 6-1 singles record in the month of September. He competed in the HEB Baylor Intercollegiate where he went 3-1 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the main draw before losing to semifinalist Marko Krickovic of Baylor. Frost posted straight-set wins over Bobourjon Kamiljanov (USTA) and Calo Gomez (Laredo CC), then pulled out a three-set match against Jarryd Chaplin of Tennessee. The sophomore went undefeated in the Southern Miss Invitational, posting wins over Rob Lee (Lamar) in straight sets. Frost downed David Zimmeran (UAB) in a three-setter before pulling out a three-set win against David Leitner of South Alabama. Frost teamed with Andrew Goodwin in doubles for a 2-1 record. The duo opened the HEB Baylor Intercollegiate with a win over Hunter Goertz/Coleman Wahlborg (Louisiana-Lafayette), 8-3, before losing to Abid Akbar/Marius Cristea (Idaho), 8-3. They won their only match played in doubles at the Southern Miss Invitational, an 8-4 win over Vinay Kamienei/Rui Silva (New Orleans).
