Adeniran tallied the game-winning goal in UAB’s 2-1 victory against Tulsa on Saturday, Oct. 19. It marked his first goal of the season. In the 83rd minute, UAB was able to break through the Tulsa defense with what proved to be the game-winner. Redshirt senior midfielder Fatai Alabi chipped a pass to Adeniran on the right side of the 18-yard box, which he collected, fended off a defender and beat the TU keeper to the far post. Adeniran now has three points on the year. This is Adeniran’s first Player of the Week honor of his career.
C-USA Defensive Player of the Week – Sean Stowe, Old Dominion, R-Sr, GK, Midlothian, Va.
Stowe came up with a career-high-tying seven saves in ODU’s 1-0 win at FIU, which pushed the Monarchs to 4-1 in Conference USA play. With ODU playing a man down for the final 23-plus minutes of the match, Stowe steadied the defense and preserved the shutout. He lowered his GAA average to 1.25. The Defensive Player of the Week award is Stowe’s second of the season and of his career.
