C-USA QUICK SHOTS
The second-ranked Tulsa men's soccer team faced an upfield battle to keep its perfect season alive after falling behind due to a midfield miracle goal by Missouri State in the 14th minute. However, the Golden Hurricane rose to the challenge and tied the game when junior forward Adrian Klammer (Hohenems, Austria) took advantage of a loose ball in the box after a pass from Matt Boullt (Sugar Land, Texas) at the 73:41 mark. Two minutes later, senior Ashley McInnes (Aberdeen, Scotland) nearly put Tulsa ahead, but his free kick from outside the box hit the crossbar. Freshman goalkeeper Ray Clark (Norman, Okla.) made a game-saving stop in the final minute when a Missouri State forward took off on a break away, but was unable to slip one past the Tulsa newcomer. In overtime, the two teams battled to a standstill until junior standout Austin Neil (Broken Arrow, Okla.) took a rebounded shot in the 107th minute and netted the game-winner. The goal was Neil's seventh of the season, which leads Conference USA, and his third game-winner of the 2010 campaign. Tulsa, which moved to 6-0 on the year, will take its undefeated record to No. 1 Akron on Friday, when the teams will compete in a nationally-televised match as the Fox Soccer Channel's NSCAA Game of the Week at 7 p.m. CT.
