IRVING, Texas – Marshall won its opening match at the Radford Tournament to maintain its unbeaten record, while Kentucky was a shutout winner at Louisville and SMU took an overtime win against Oakland at the SMU Classic Friday night in Conference USA men’s soccer action.

Marshall 2, UNC Asheville 1 - Radford Tournament - Radford, Va.
Marshall remained unbeaten and improved to 5-0-1 for the season with a 2-1 win over UNC Asheville at Radford University Friday afternoon. The Thundering Herd was able to extend its unbeaten streak to six games courtesy of opening half strikes from senior Tom Jackson and junior Anthony Virgara. Kentucky senior Matt Lodge connected on a free-kick goal in the 38th minute and goalkeeper Jack Van Arsdale saved a staggering six shots, leading the Wildcats to a thrilling 1-0 win over No. 18 Louisville on Friday night in front of 5,583 fans, the second-largest crowd in Cardinal Park history and the largest crowd to ever witness a UK men’s soccer game. at UAB 2, Fairleigh Dickinson 2 - UAB Soccer for a Cure Class - Birmingham, Ala.

UCF was unable to get the result it desired Friday as the Knights played Jacksonville to a 2-2 double-overtime draw at the UCF Soccer Complex. UCF outshot the Dolphins 26-10, but needed a goal from Deshorn Brown in the 83rd minute to send the game into extra time. UCF Men's Soccer Page
