Sept. 4 Men's Soccer Players of the Week

IRVING, Texas - Tulsa freshman Bryce Follensbee is this week's C-USA Offensive Player of the Week after he scored the game-winner in the 92nd minute to propel the Golden Hurricane past No. 3 New Mexico at the Hurricane Classic in Tulsa, Okla. Marshall freshman Matt Freeman is the Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Herd maintain its perfect defensive record during two matches last week.
C-USA Offensive Player of the Week - Bryce Follensbee, Tulsa, Fr., F, Orlando, Fla.
Follensbee led the Hurricane to a 2-1 win over No. 3 New Mexico, posting a team-high five shots, with four on goal, including the game-winner at the 91:42 mark. Follensbee also had one shot, which was on goal, as he anchored the attack in a 2-1 loss to No. 4 South Florida. Follensbee has a team-best three goals for six points for the season. This is his first C-USA Player of the Week award.
C-USA Defensive Player of the Week - Matt Freeman, Marshall, Fr., D, Irmo, S.C.
Freeman has played a large part in a Marshall defense that has yet to concede a goal through three contests. After helping the Herd blank Bowling Green in a 0-0 double-overtime draw, Freeman returned to action less than 48 hours later and helped lead the team to another shutout in a 1-0 win over IPFW. He also tallied an assist on the game-winning goal by Eddy Prugh as Marshall improved to 2-0-1 for the season. The award is the first C-USA Player of the Week honor for Freeman.
