MONTGOMERY, Ala. - SMU golfers Marc Sambol and Aaron Stewart finished one-two at the Collegiate Players Tour event at Lagoon Park Golf Course last week. With the strong finish, the duo qualified for the Tour's Championship to be played at Texas Star Golf Course in Euless, Texas, August 11-14.

Stewart, son of the late SMU great Payne Stewart, took a one-stroke lead onto the par-five 15th, but bogeyed the hole. Sambol made par to even the score and the Mustang teammates remained even through the par-three 16th. Stewart's shot into the trees on the 17th led to another bogey, while Sambol parred the hole and birdied the 18th to claim the victory.
