Seven C-USA Golfers Named PING All-Region

IRVING, Texas – Seven Conference USA men’s golfers have been named to the Division I PING All-Region Teams as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America Thursday. UCF players Ricardo Gouveia, Jose Joia and Brad Schneider and Memphis’ Jonathan Fly were named to the All-Southeast Region squad. East Carolina’s Adam Stephenson and Harold Varner received All-East Region recognition and SMU’s Matt Schovee was tabbed to the Central Region list.

A total of 155 players across six regions - Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2012.

Varner was named 2012 C-USA Player of the Year, while Fly, Gouveia and Schneider were named to the All-C-USA First Team. Stephenson and Joia earned second team all-conference honors and Schovee shared medalist honors at the NCAA Greensboro Regional.
