IRVING, Texas - SMU junior Kelly Kraft was named the C-USA Golfer of the Year, Drew Scott of Rice was named the Coach of the Year, Owl rookie Jade Scott was selected the Freshman of the Year and Memphis sophomore Jonathan Fly was voted the Newcomer of the Year, as voted on by the league's 11 head coaches.

Kraft was ranked as high as No. 41 by Golfweek magazine entering the 2010 C-USA Championship, where he finished ninth overall. The three-time All-Conference USA selection was the unanimous selection for Golfer of the Year honors and was also named C-USA Golfer of the Week twice this season. Kraft opened the 2009-10 season by winning medalist honors at The Gopher Invitational, then posted seven more Top 10 finishes and placed among the Top 20 in three other tournaments.
Kraft is joined on All-Conference USA First Team by Fly, East Carolina sophomore David Watkins, Southern Miss redshirt senior Paul Apyan and 2010 C-USA Championship medalist Christopher Brown of Rice.
A pair of UCF Knights, junior Nuno Henriques and sophomore Brad Schneider, are joined on the All-Conference USA Second Team by Rice senior Michael Buttacavoli, Tulsa senior Rob Laird and East Carolina sophomore Harold Varner. Henriques and Schneider both earned spots on the C-USA All-Tournament Team, tying for second place individually and leading UCF to back-to-back team titles. Schneider and Laird repeat as second-team all-conference selections.
Fly was also the recipient of the 2010 C-USA Newcomer of the Year Award. Fly transferred to Memphis from Auburn, where he spent two seasons. He carded a 2-under-par 70 on the final day of the C-USA Championship to tie for 12th place. It was his sixth Top 20 finish of the season and the redshirt sophomore had just come off a runner-up finish among 128 golfers at the UK Bluegrass Invitational.
Rice head coach Drew Scott led the Owls to a second place finish at the 2010 C-USA Men's Golf Championship and a No. 59 ranking from Golfweek. In his fifth season as head coach at his alma mater, Scott led the Owls to their first team title in more than 10 years at the UTA/Waterchase Invitational. The team went on to post a total of four, Top Five finishes during the fall season, then opened the Spring by winning the 15-team Rice Invitational.
The Owls' Jade Scott was named the 2010 C-USA Freshman of the Year. Scott was the top freshman finisher at the C-USA Championship, helped by a 3-under-par 69 on the second day to tie for 24th place overall. Joining Scott on the All-Freshman Team were Carlson Cox and Lexus Keoninh of Memphis, Chris Worrell of Tulsa and Reid Martin of UCF.
