Conference USA Golfers of the Week
UCF's Barber and Tulane's Gustafsson Honored

IRVING, Texas- UCF’s Blayne Barber is the Conference USA Men’s Golfer of the Week. The freshman fired a 12-under 204 (71-64-69) at the Rio Pinar Invitational before claiming medalist honors and helping the host Knights to the tournament title. Tulane’s Linn Gustafsson is the C-USA Women’s Golfer of the Week for her performance at the 2009 Wildcat Invitational. The sophomore carded an even-par 216 (71-75-70) to place sixth-overall in a tournament which showcased 13 of the nation’s top 40 women’s programs, including five ranked in the top 10.

MALE GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Blayne Barber – UCF

Barber fired a 12-under 204 to claim medalist honors at the Rio Pinar Invitational and leading the host Knights to the tournament title. The freshman opened play with a one-under 71 just before he registered an eight-under 64 in the second round to tie the school’s single-round record. In the final round of play, Barber carded a three-under par to win by two strokes and claim his first career individual title. This is Barber’s second career weekly honor.

FEMALE GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Linn Gustafsson – Tulane

Gustafsson carded an even-par 216 at the 2009 Wildcat Invitational in Sonora, Mexico. The sophomore entered day two in 10th-place, but turned in her best performance and recorded her lowest round as a Green Wave, two-under 70. Gustafsson led Tulane to its fourth-top 10 finish in five tournaments and helped the Green Wave finish ahead of two top-20 ranked squads. This is the first weekly honor of Gustafsson’s career.
