Madison, Miss. - Southern Miss got through six holes of the second round of the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate before play was halted due to tornado warnings. The tournament is being played at the par-72, 7,305-yard Reunion Golf and Country Club and hosted by Ole Miss.

Due to the weather, the tournament will be shortened to 36 holes.

The Golden Eagles are sitting at in fourth-place at two-over par after shooting a first round 290.

Freshman Zach Estep fired a career-low 71 to tie for 12th-place. It is his third round of par or better this year.

Redshirt junior Derek Plucienski shot his 12th round of par or better this year with an even-par 72 to sit in a tie for 17th-place.

Redshirt junior Nick Brown is tied for 25th-place after carding a 73. Senior Brent Hobbs posted a 74 for a tie for 32nd-place, and freshman Kevin Brady shot a 76 to sit in a tie for 48th.

Southeastern Louisiana’s Philipp Westermann and Lane Hulse of South Alabama are tied for the individual lead at four-under par. Rice’s Michael Whitehead and Hunter Hawkins of UAB are three-under in third-place.

Southeastern Louisiana is in the lead at four-under par. South Alabama is in second at three-under par, followed by UCF (-1) and Southern Miss (+1).

The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final round at 10:30 a.m.
