| Divisions: |
Two. East Carolina, Marshall, Memphis, Southern Miss, UAB and UCF in the East. Houston, Rice, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa and UTEP in the West. |
| Scheduling Format: |
Institutions will play eight Conference games using divisions. A single round-robin will be played in division and three cross division opponents rotate every two years. |
| 2008 Championship: |
Dec. 6, Site TBD. Hosted by school with best winning percentage in conference games. |
| 2008 Bowl Tie-ins: |
AutoZone Liberty (champion), GMAC (second selection), Bell Helicopter Armed Forces, R+L Carriers New Orleans, St. Petersburg and Texas Bowls are guaranteed selections. |
| Postseason Awards: |
Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Special Teams Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Coach of the Year, First and Second Team All-Conference and All-Freshman Team. Awards are chosen by each head coach and announced in early December. In addition there will be an All-Academic Team selected by the SIDs. |

Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week. Chosen by a panel consisting of one media member in each league city. |
