CONFERENCE USA FOOTBALL FORMAT FOR 2013-14

2013 Teams (14): East Carolina, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Rice, Southern Miss, Tulane, Tulsa, UAB, UTEP, UTSA
Divisions: Two. East Carolina, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss and UAB in the East. Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Rice, Tulane, Tulsa, UTEP and UTSA in the West.
Scheduling Format: Eight conference games. Each school will each team in its division once and two teams from the opposite division. The 2013 schedule is a one-year, stand alone model.
2013 Championship: Dec. 7, Site TBD. Hosted by school with best winning percentage in conference games.
2013 Bowl Tie-ins: AutoZone Liberty (champion), Beef 'O' Brady's St. Petersburg, Heart of Dallas, R+L Carriers New Orleans and Sheraton Hawai'i Bowls are primary agreements. The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl and Military Bowls are secondary agreements.
Regular Season Awards: Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week. Chosen by a panel consisting of one media member in each league city.
Postseason Awards: Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Special Teams Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Coach of the Year, First and Second Team All-Conference and All-Freshman Team. Awards are chosen by each head coach and announced following the C-USA Championship Game. The first and second place teams will receive trophies and the first place team will receive individual awards. In addition there will be an All-Academic Team selected by the SIDs.
