H.A. Chapman Stadium

Dec. 5, 2008

We're just one day away from the 2008 Conference USA Football Championship Game. West Division champion Tulsa will host East Division champion East Carolina on Saturday at H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa. The winner of the championship game will represent C-USA in the 50th annual AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Jan. 2 in Memphis, Tenn.

Good seats for the fourth annual championship game remain on sale. Please visit the football championship page on www.ConferenceUSA.com or www.TulsaHurricane.com for detailed information on purchasing tickets.

ESPN will televise the championship game live, beginning at Noon EST/11 a.m. CST. Dave Pasch will serve as the play-by-play voice, while Andre Ware, the 1989 Heisman Trophy winner at C-USA member Houston, will be the analyst.

The Conference USA staff and the host Tulsa staff are putting the finishing touches at H.A. Chapman Stadium this afternoon. C-USA banners and signage have been hung, giving the stadium a different look and feel than it has for a TU home game.

The teams will practice this afternoon, with East Carolina going at 2:30, while Tulsa will go on the field at 4 p.m. Along with their practices, the two head coaches will meet with the media form 3-4 p.m. Quotes from those press conferences will be posted later today on ConferenceUSA.com.

Today's weather is sunny and very cool in the low 40's, but temperatures are supposed to rise on game day. The game time temperature is expected to be in the mid-50's under bright sunny skies. It should be great football weather for a much-anticipated championship game matchup.
