Setting The Scene

• Looking to secure bowl eligibility and a school-record fourth-straight bowl berth, SMU hosts C-USA West leader Tulsa on Senior Day in a nationally televised match-up.

• SMU will honor seniors Bryan Collins, Aaron Davis, Ja’Gared Davis, Billy Dugal, Jordan Free, Austin Fuller, Kevin Grenier, Brett Haness, Margus Hunt, Darius Johnson, Zach Line, Cole Loftin, Blake McJunkin, Torlan Pittman, Taylor Reed, Keith Robinson, Cameron Rogers, Ryan Smith, Mark Voosen and Cody Worthen in a post-game ceremony.

• Since the start of the 2009 season, SMU is 14-1 in league games played at Ford Stadium and 21-10 in C-USA games overall (6-2, 6-2, 5-3, 4-3).

• Saturday’s game will be SMU’s last in Conference USA, as the Mustangs will move to the BIG EAST in 2013.

• The Mustangs have done a great job of creating turnovers at home, forcing 25 and holding a +12 margin.

• Over the past two-plus seasons, SMU is 13-0 when scoring first, but 0-13 when the opponent scores first.

Zach Line puts the “run” in SMU’s Run & Shoot. Line has totaled 4,033 yards and 43 rushing TDs in his career, both of which rank in the top four among active players. His career rushing total is second-best in school history, trailing only Eric Dickerson. He has been a model of consistency, rushing for 80 or more yards in 31 of 35 games since becoming the feature back in 2010. His 20 career 100-yard games rank third among active players. He has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for the third time and is just the second Mustang and the fourth player in C-USA history to reach that plateau in at least three seasons.

• SMU leads the nation in pick-sixes (6) and boasts a national-best 12 players with interceptions. The Mustangs are also tied for fourth in the nation in total takeaways (30) and interceptions (18) and rank third in fumble recoveries for TDs (3).

• Since taking over kick return duties, SMU’s Der’rikk Thompson has been among the nation’s best. While he has just 14 returns, his 26.7-yard average ranks 22nd nationally.

About The Golden Hurricane

• Having already clinched the C-USA Western Division Championship, Tulsa is playing for a 10-win season. The Golden Hurricane features a solid gound game and a defense that ranks third in the nation in sacks per game.

The Series

• SMU and Tulsa are meeting for the 20th time, with SMU holding a 12-7 series edge. SMU holds a 7-3 advantage in games played in Dallas and a 5-4 lead in games played in Tulsa. SMU has won two of the last three in the series, winning 27-13 in Tulsa in 2009 and 21-18 in Dallas in 2010.
