Houston senior QB Case Keenum has been named Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 310 yards and two TDs to lead the Cougars to a 38-34 win over UCLA. Southern Miss senior DL Cordarro Law earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after a dominating performance in the Golden Eagles win over Louisiana Tech. Special Teams recognition went to Tulane freshman KR Robert Kelley, who set a school-record for kickoff return yards in his first game in a Green Wave uniform.

In his first game back since suffering a season-ending injury a year ago, Keenum threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns in Houston's 38-34 victory over UCLA on Saturday. Keenum completed 75 percent of his passes with 30 completions on 40 attempts and committed no turnovers. Keenum, who added 30 yards on the ground, currently ranks ninth nationally in total offense (340 yards). He orchestrated six scoring drives, all covering more than 55 yards, while leading two drives before the half that covered 130 total yards in a combined one minute and 20 seconds. Houston also converted 8-of-13 third-down conversions with Keenum at the helm. This is the 10th all-time player of the week honor for Keenum, more than any football player in C-USA history.

Law tallied eight tackles (two solos) and added 2.0 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss in Southern Miss' win over Louisiana Tech as the Golden Eagles limited the Bulldogs to just 244 yards of total offense. Law, who ranks first on the school charts in forced fumbles, registered one more in the contest to give him 11 for his career. One of his sacks forced Louisiana Tech to settle for a field goal. With his sack total, Law also moved into fourth place on the career school charts in that category.

Kelley wasted little time inserting his name into the Tulane record book. The true freshman set a Tulane single-game kickoff return yardage record in his collegiate debut, tallying 213 yards on seven returns. Kelley returned the game's opening kickoff 66 yards and then the rookie posted returns of 27 yards and 28 yards in the first half and added a 51-yard return in the second half. Kelley surpassed the former mark of 171, established by Jeff Liggon on Oct. 26, 1996, against Southern Miss. Kelley's seven returns, meanwhile, ranks tied for third in school history - one shy of Casey Robottom and Terrance Strickland, and tied with Strickland (twice) and Coleman Dupre. On offense, Kelley was one of six players that reached the end zone when he scored his first collegiate touchdown from 11-yards out in the fourth quarter. Kelley also ran twice for 12 yards on the day. By the time his first collegiate game was in the books, Kelley had touched the ball nine times for 225 yards and a touchdown.
