Nick Lamaison made eight starts last year for UTEP and showed enough promise in those outings to be named the preseason quarterback on the C-USA Coaches All-Conference team. The signal-caller is one of seven returning starters on the Miners offense.

2011 (JUNIOR): Played in nine games, including eight starts ... connected on 130-of-224 for 1,718 yards to go along with 12 TDs and 10 interceptions ... rushed for 39 yards, including a 33-yard scamper, and a TD in six carries against Colorado State ... directed a come-from-behind victory against Stony Brook by completing 24-of-38 for 365 yards and three TDs in the season opener ... it marked the most passing yards by a Miners' signal caller since 1986 ... suffered an injury in the ensuing game against SMU ... missed two contests before returning to start seven of the final eight games on the year ... registered three TD passes in a trio of games, while twice completing at least 20 passes.
PRIOR TO UTEP: Earned All-California and All-American honors after leading Mt. San Antonio College to the number one ranking in the JC Athletic Bureau/California Community College Football Coaches Association (CCCFCA) in 2010 ... named the Offensive Player of the Year for both the All-California and All-American teams ... the Mounties finished 13-0 and defeated previously unbeaten City College of San Francisco, 34-7, to capture their second straight state and national championship ... he completed 23 of 33 passes for 233 yards to earn MVP honors in the state title game ... completed 300 of 499 passes (60.1 percent) for 3,993 yards with 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions as a sophomore ... averaged 307.2 yards passing per game ... threw for a season-high 422 yards at College of the Desert on Sept. 18 ... also played at Mt. SAC as a freshman during the 2008 season, completing 246-of-385 passes (63.9 percent) for 3,479 yards with 36 TDs and eight picks ... squad was 13-1 that year ... his freshman honors included first team All-American by JC Athletic Bureau and California Community College Region 3 Offensive Player of the Year ... signed with Tennessee following his freshman year at Mt. SAC before returning to the Mounties ... teammate of current Miners Mike Edwards and James Martin at Mt. SAC ... played prep ball at South Hills (Calif.) High School, throwing for 2,411 yards and 17 scores as a senior ... first-team All- CIF and the All-League MVP in 2007 ... three-year letterwinner.
