TULSA'S CODY WILSON NAMED C-USA POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

IRVING, Texas - University of Tulsa senior student-athlete Cody Wilson was named one of 12 recipients of Conference USA's Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship Award, it was announced today by C-USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky. Wilson is a member of the Golden Hurricane football squad.
Wilson graduated with his bachelor's degree in communication in December 2011 and is currently pursuing his graduate degree in Education. He had a 3.304 grade point average as an undergraduate and has maintained a 3.778 GPA in graduate school.
Wilson has played in 29 career games, including all 14 games a year ago for the Hurricane. He made the switch from linebacker to fullback in the 2012 spring season.
This is the fifth year the postgraduate scholarship award has been named for Dr. Castañeda, who served Rice University for 46 years as an educator, coach and Faculty Athletics Representative before he passed away in November 2008. The conference annually presents the $4,000 Postgraduate Scholarship awards to graduates as selected by the C-USA Faculty Athletics Representatives and approved by the Board of Directors.
