Date Changes Announced to 2014 C-USA Football Schedule
April 1, 2014
Conference USA has announced date changes to four football games this fall. All four date changes are to accommodate national television. Game times and networks will be announced at a later date.
The first date change will be the initial game of the 2014 season and WKU's debut as a member of Conference USA. The Hilltoppers home contest against Bowling Green State University will now be played one day later than originally scheduled, taking place on Friday, August 29, in Bowling Green, Ky.
The West Division matchup between Louisiana Tech and North Texas has also changed dates. The Bulldogs will visit the Mean Green on Thursday, September 11 in Denton, Texas. The matchup will be the first league contest in Conference USA this season.
The annual Shula Bowl meeting between FIU and Florida Atlantic has been moved up two days and will now be played on Thursday, October 2, in Miami.
The final date change involves the Southern Miss at UTSA contest. The first meeting between these inter-divisional foes has been moved two days earlier and will now take place on Thursday, November 13, in San Antonio.
Additional date changes to accommodate television remain a possibility, and details of such games will be announced as soon as possible.
C-USA's 19th football season will begin on Friday, August 29. The league's 10th annual football championship game is scheduled for Saturday, December 6.
