IRVING, Texas - UAB junior guard Chad Frazier scored a game-high 25 points as the Blazers knocked off No. 16 North Carolina on Sunday to repeat as the Conference USA Player of the Week. Marshall guard Kareem Canty averaged 17 points and 4.5 assists in two games to earn Freshman of the Week accolades. Awards are chosen by a media panel representing the 16 member schools.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CHAD FRAZIER, UAB
Junior, 6-4, G, Charlotte, N.C.

Frazier scored a game-high 25 points on Sunday as the Blazers knocked off No. 16 North Carolina, 63-59, in front of 8,313 spectators at Bartow Arena. Frazier jump started UAB's surge in the first half with 18 points in the opening 20 minutes against the Tar Heels, helping UAB to a 37-25 advantage at the half. Frazier hit three crucial 3-pointers against UNC and knocked in 12-of-14 at the free throw line, including two that put UAB up 60-57 with 36 seconds remaining. Frazier has now scored in double figures in each of UAB's first eight games and leads the Blazers in scoring with 19.3 points per contest. This is Frazier's second career C-USA Player of the Week honor.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
KAREEM CANTY, MARSHALL
Freshman, 6-1, G, Harlem, N.Y.

Canty scored 15 points, ranking second on the day for the Herd, in a win over Western Kentucky on Nov. 26. He led the team in scoring (19) and assists (6) against East Tennessee State on Nov. 30. Canty finished the week averaging 17.0 points and 4.5 assists per game in 33.5 minutes per game. This is Canty's first weekly award.
