Memphis sophomore Will Barton won his fourth C-USA Player of the Week honor, and second in a row, after leading Memphis to a pair of conference wins to help secure the C-USA regular season title for the Tigers. UTEP freshman forward Julian Washburn was named C-USA Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season. Washburn averaged 16.5 points and 5.0 rebounds for the week. Weekly awards are chosen by a vote from a media panel representing the 12 member schools.

Sophomore, G, Baltimore, Md.

Barton averaged 24.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals as Memphis defeated UCF and Tulsa to clinch the C-USA regular season title outright. Barton scored a career-high 30 points on the road Saturday against the Golden Hurricane, becoming the first Tiger to record at least 30 points in a game since Elliot Williams did so against Rice on Jan. 16, 2010 (32 points). He scored 17 of his 30 points in first half and another six during an 18-3 run to open the second half. That performance also included his 1,000th career point as he became the 47th player in school history to reach the milestone and only the ninth Tiger to reach 1,000 points in only two seasons. He enters the C-USA Championship with 1,011 career points. Barton grabbed nine rebounds against Tulsa to be just one shy of a double-double. Earlier in the week, Barton recorded his 11th double-double of season with 18 points and 11 rebounds against UCF. For the week, he shot 70.4 percent from the field, 83.3 percent from the arc and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line. This is his fourth C-USA Player of the Week honor this season.

Freshman, F, Duncanville, Texas

Washburn scored a career-high 21 points at SMU and averaged 16.5 ppg for the week as UTEP lost to Rice (68-61) and the Mustangs (57-48). He played 70 minutes in the two games, shooting 46.2 percent (12-for-26) from the field, 60 percent (3-for-5) from three-point range and 75 percent (6-for-8) from the line. Washburn also averaged 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals. He was 8-for-15 from the floor with a couple of steals at SMU. Earlier in the week he scored 12 points with two blocks versus the Owls. This is his fourth C-USA Freshman of the Week honor this season.
