All 12 C-USA teams are on the hardwood tonight in conference match-ups. It marks the first game of conference play for 10 teams, as SMU and Tulsa officially tipped off the C-USA schedule Sunday.
Tulsa's Pat Swilling Jr. drained his career-best sixth 3-pointer with just 3.8 seconds to play to give the Golden Hurricane a 48-47 road win at SMU. TU is back on the road for a 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT tip at Marshall. The Herd should see play from preseason all-conference first-teamer DeAndre Kane, who missed four games with a broken hand. SMU is also on the road at Houston for a 7 p.m. CT start. The Cougars compiled the best non-conference record in C-USA at 11-2.
Tulane has also had an impressive non-conference slate, posting a 12-3 overall mark and 10-0 at home. The Green Wave puts that home court streak to the test as host to a tough UTEP team. The Miners were 6-6 in non-conference play, but with a strength of schedule that ranks seventh nationally. Tip-off from Devlin Fieldhouse is 7 p.m. CT.
Memphis hosts East Carolina in a regionally televised game on SportSouth beginning at 7 p.m. CT. The Tigers are coming off a key 85-80 road win against in-state rival Tennessee. Reigning Player of the Week Joe Jackson scored 20 points and added seven assists and four steals in the victory. ECU ranks second in C-USA for offense, averaging 79.2 points per game, and is led in scoring by senior Maurice Kemp's 18.1 ppg (also second in C-USA).
UAB hits the road for a 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT tip at UCF, while Southern Miss rides a three-game win streak into Rice for a 7 p.m. CT game.
