PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JOE JACKSON, MEMPHIS
Junior, G, Memphis, Tenn.

Jackson helped lead the Tigers to an 85-80 victory over in-state rival Tennessee with a team-best 20 points, seven assists and four steals. He shot 55.6 percent from the field, 50 percent from the arc and 81.8 percent from the free throw line, including a 4-of-4 performance at the stripe in the final 14 seconds to seal the victory. In first half, Jackson accounted for 10 straight points with two free throws, a layup and three assists to blow up a 20-19 Tigers' lead to 30-23. He also assisted on Antonio Barton's 3-pointer just before halftime to give Memphis its largest lead of the half at 42-27. This is his first career C-USA Player of the Week honor, but he did earn C-USA Rookie of the Week honors Dec. 27, 2010.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
MAX GUERCY, RICE
Freshman, G, Arleta, Calif.

Guercy led Rice and recorded a new single-game high with 19 points in the team's only game of the week at Harvard. The point guard sank all four three-point attempts and dished out five of the team's seven assists on the afternoon. He matched a season high with 37 minutes played and connected on 6-of-8 attempts from the field. Guercy leads the team in 3-point accuracy (42.1 percent), ranks second in assists (1.8 apg) and averages 8.5 points per game to rank third on the team. His 19 points at Harvard were his fourth double-figure scoring performance of the season. This is the first C-USA Freshman of the Week award for Guercy.
