For the second straight year the top two teams in the Conference USA standings will meet to determine the regular season champion. Last year, Rice won two-of-three at Southern Miss to share the title. This year Rice goes to UCF with both teams sporting a 15-6 league mark after they each won two-of-three this past weekend.

Rice won the first two games against UAB, before the Blazers took Sunday's series finale, 6-5 in 12 innings. UCF sandwiched a pair of victories around a Saturday defeat to earn a series win at Marshall. The Knights became just the third Division I program to reach the 40-win mark, following Florida State and Kentucky. UCF's 10-2 road mark this season was the best by a C-USA school since Rice finished 11-1 on the road in 2008.

The Owls have won at least a share of four of the first five regular season championships since beginning C-USA play in 2006. UCF will be seeking its first conference championship since winning the Atlantic Sun title in 2004.

Tulane and Southern Miss are now tied for third place at 12-9 in conference play, with the Green wave owning the head-to-head edge. Tulane took the series at Houston, two games to one, and won all of its road series in conference play for the first time since 2000. Southern Miss posted its second straight C-USA series sweep at Pete Taylor Park, winning two one-run games and one game by two runs over East Carolina.

Memphis travelled to Missouri in non-conference action and won two-of-three. That marked the first time in program history that the Tigers have won a three-game series against an opponent from the Big 12 Conference.
